You know. Men have a lot of pressure on them because of gender norms. It’s almost as if we should kind of get rid of them and let people do what they want regardless of gendered social pressure. But I guess that’s like super gay or something.

I don't like how this post is comparing female and male problems. Many posts on suggest that feminist people are radical. But it is always wrong to generalize people. There are radical feminists, yes. But they are getting pushed up by media just like everything and everyone else that is sensational for them. We should stop treating this issues like a contest and start working together. As a woman, I have lifelong experience that my problems in society have bot been taken seriously. And sometimes that makes me angry. But it is no reason to not take men problems serious as well. Woman and men should start to work with each other instead of fighting and compete against for who has the most serious problems. It shouldn't be a "you did that" "and you did that" kind of discussion, it should be "what could we do to help each other" talk

The ones who can change this are the men. Ask for help. Start fundraising. Start a support group/charity. Be there for your friends. Don't mock them when they're struggling. Stop using phrases like; 'Man up', 'Grow a pair', 'Be a man' etc. Ask them how they are. Be supportive. YOU can change this. YOU can make the difference. Blaming the fact that some things have more than others isn't helpful. Changing things is.

Women attempt suicide at a far higher rate then men, men just use more immediately lethal means than women (men use guns as opposed to women taking pills, etc). That's a more complex statistic than you're making it sound. I recognize that many many lives are lost each day but we should be making sure that nobody feels alone instead of warring over who has it worse and sharing partial statistics.

Agree with all except the cancer point. Breast cancer is nearly twice as prevalent as prostate cancer, second only in occurrence to lung cancer. Breast cancer affects both sexes (yes females more often though.) You can also probably blame toxic masculinity a bit when it comes to prostate cancer. Cause y’know apparently it’s gay to get your prostate checked....

Interesting. Let me ask you how many men advocate for male rape victims? I don't see that many. But many women advocate for female rape victims. So it's the women's fault for speaking up for their rights, but not for the men's? No, I think everyone should advocate for their own disadvantages. The solution is masculism or whatever that would be called: activism for male issues. Now it would be interesting to see how something like this would play out. Will it receive similar pushback as feminism does? Pretty sure it will, mostly by men, calling the advocates weak and manly, etc. I know it's a loaded term but toxic masculinity exists and it's hurting men, maybe more than it hurts women.

Almost all of these issue have a root cause in an overly masculine society where men shame other men for being emotional or open about their feelings. If men get hurt either emotionally or physically they aren't expected to show it because it's seen as a sign of weakness, we're taught by society to solve problems not be the problems. Not to say that women don't make these issues worse of course, they can be just as bad at shaming men however this all comes out of a male focused society that has a very rigid definition of what "being a man" is.

Tough all of this statements might be true (don’t know, did not check them) concerning the first one it is not the whole truth. Men are actually less lightly to attempt suicide yet when they do, they are more successful. This results from the different methods men and women use. So women are more suicidal then men but men are „better“ at killing themselves. BUT the issue of mental health in men is a big problem we need to deal with. There are just better figures to show this... for example that men usually don’t seek treatment as often or at later point then women.
